Happy as Rosie Blog

As my first blog post, I thought I would go into a bit more detail as to how I got into my health journey. After suffering from many mental and physical illnesses and coming to loose end after loose end I became very frustrated. Personally I am very stubborn and I didn’t want to take medication to fix my issues as I really believed deep down something was wrong. I had to get to the bottom of it. I soon realised I was living in a constant state of “fight or flight”, over stressed, over tired among many other things. This will happen to you after working many years in the hospitality industry so I thought maybe my restaurant cheffing career wasn’t for me. However I still love food and I love cooking and I was always very interested in how food affects us and I wanted to learn more about what other aspects of life affected us the same way food does. To my surprise there is a whole lot more to what we eat that affects our lives mentally, emotionally and physically. I was fascinated that I could eat all the kale in the world but if everything else is out of balance then that kale is like a drop in the ocean. Looking at our lives in a holistic approach is where I really came into myself and started to notice what was serving me and what was stressing me. All the other things we digest every day such as media, conversations, relationships, play a huge role in our lives. I realised I was so out of tune with my body and my self, I had stopped listening to my signals. Through yoga I have found new ways to ground myself, reconnect with myself and really be able to listen to my body and my feelings which has been a huge step in my wellness journey. Thats why when we work together it is not just me telling you to exercise every day and drink green juice, we work together to find out what is not aligning with your life anymore and figure out how to reconnect with yourself and start living again.
